W A N T E D
From 1990 to 2015 I had a job with a top 40 country band out of Muncie, Indiana. called WANTED. For a few years I took some time off and during that time I worked with a few other bands, but for nearly 25 years, this was my gig. We had the fortune to play some awesome shows. Three times we played on race day at the Indy 500. We opened for such people and bands as Martin Delray, Mel McDaniel, Billy Dean, Deana Carter, Gibson/Miller Band, Little Texas, Patty Loveless, Steve Warner, Doug Supernaw, infant, we actually played on stage with Doug Supernaw the night his song (I don’t call him Daddy) hit number one on the Billboard charts. Afterwards, I shared a bottle of Crown with his fiddle player. GOOD TIMES!
During the time I was with this band, we went through a few changes in players but the foundation was always there. Nothing lasts forever and eventually we went our separatet ways for good, but the memories are still as strong as ever. Country music with attitude!
We had a song at number one on the Top 5 at Five on WAXT 96.7 F M back in the mid 1990’s. We won the A Little Bit Of Texas Battle of the Bands, and as our reward we got to open for LeeRoy Parnell at 95.5 F M WFMS’s 17th birthday party at A Little Bit of Texas in Indianapolis.
