Liner notes for my virtual CD

Here is where you will find the lyrics for the songs in my virtual compact disc, as well as notes of interest pertaining to my process and thoughts at that time.

Till’ the End of Time…

words and music by Jeff LeMond

NOTES: I wrote this song one evening as I was banging around on my Roland R D 1000 digital piano out in the garage: back in the mid 1990’s . It is today, as it was then. Virtually unchanged. A few People actually use to request this one when I played out with the band. What an awesome thing that was. Its a fun song about a love that will last forever. A song of hope and undying dedication. Science fiction.

lyrics

I think about you all the time, You won’t let my poor heart be. Without your love’ girl, Ide’ loos my mind. If someone walks it won’t be me. I know about those times he made you cry. Girl I’m here to wipe the tears from your eyes.

CHORUS: I’l be loving’ you till the sun goes out. I’l still be holden on, theres’ no doubt. Aint nothin’ in the universe gonna’ change my mind. I’l be loving you, Till’ the end of time…

I dream about you every night, I’m holding you in my sleep. All the while you’re right here by my side. You say your love is mine to keep. Ide’ give anything to make it all come true. Girl, I wanna do more than just dream about you.

CHORUS: I’l be loving’ you till the sun goes out. I’l still be holden on, theres’ no doubt. Aint nothin’ in the universe gonna’ change my mind. I’l be loving you, Till’ the end of time…

CHORUS: I’l be loving’ you till the sun goes out. I’l still be holden on girl, theres’ no doubt. Aint nothin’ in the universe gonna’ change my mind. I’l be loving you, Till’ the end of time…

Baby Love

words and music by Jeff LeMond

NOTE: This is the very first song I ever wrote, and it has been requested hundreds if not thousands of times over the years. It is most-likely the song I will be remembered for. If that actually happens. I found this song one evening as i was sitting at my YAMAHA CP 70b electric grand. Back in 1985. And I thank GOD for giving it to me to share with all of you. It would be remiss of me if I failed to thank Michelle and Kelly for the motivation. My aunt Pearl asked me once if I ever used the black keys on my piano, so I took that as a personal challenge as I was working on this song. This tune also has played an important role in helping me in learning how to sing and play at the same time. Believe me, its more difficult than it sounds.

I remember when I first saw you, You were standing in a dream. I remember what I first thought of you. Ooh Ooh, She’s a dream. But now here you are and we’re together. I still can’t believe you’re real. I wanna’ make tonight go on forever. I need to show you how I feel.

CHORUS: Ooh Ooh my baby love. Ooh ooh baby love. You’re the kind of girl my dreams are made of . You’re my Baby Love.

Mike Gill plays such a beautiful lead guitar sole right about here.

I just wanna’ hold you in my arms YEAH, And make sweet love with you. Girl you got me captured with your charm. Yeah’ you know how you do.

CHORUS: Ooh Ooh my baby love. Ooh ooh baby love. You’re the kind of girl my dreams are made of . You’re my Baby Love. You’ll always be my Baby Love…

It Must be love.

words and music by Jeff LeMond

NOTE: I was sitting on the front porch one lovely spring afternoon, playing around on my ensoniq TS 12 and this cool little tune just showed up. It is hard to believe this was all done on one keyboard. I am especially proud of how the drum tracks came out. What a fun tune!! I used a sample of Barack Obama calling Kanye West a jackass on a hot mike to add a little Levity to the mix. The original track does not have this sample, as Obama was not around back when I recorded it. So I subsequently ran the track through a program called GarageBand to add the sample. The impromptu lesson in particle physics during the drum break comes from a demonstration CD for the ensoniq DP-4 parallel effects processor.

I should have wrote you a letter saying how I think. But I couldn’t find the paper and my pen was on the blink. So I dialed up your number on the telephone, Let it ring all night, I guess you weren’t at home. I’m out here howling at the moon above, if this aint a heart attack, it must be love.

Well now my daddy tried to warn me when I was just a pup. Don’t mess around with women son, they will tare you up. The ole man knew what he was talking about, Well I’m in a situation that I can’t figure out. If you wanna get frisky hun, you don’t need to shove. If this aint a heart attack well it must be love.

CHORUS: My hands get sweaty, my knees go week, my tongue gets tied when I try to speak. I get so nervous when I’m with you, You’re more than a phase I’ve been going through… (He’s a jackass) = Barack Obama

Well now I get a funny feeling every time she comes near. No matter how I try, I just can’t think clear. My heart keeps a thumping’ like a washing machine. Don’t wake me up darlin’ if this is a dream. I’l give you the moon and the stars above. If this ain’t a heart attack, it must be love.

CHORUS: My friends keep telling me I better stand clear, But my heart says he’s a thinking’ true love’s near. You’re the only woman I’ve been thinking’ of. If this aint a heart attack, It must be love.

Hey Baby, It must be love.

Hey Baby, It must be love.

Y=A x, where A is a double precision, and x is a single precision binary integer. When we express A, as having a high order part A h, and a low order part A l, at the bit level, then we can say: Let’s Party! (ensoniq DP-4 parallel effects processor)

The ONE!

words and music by Jeff LeMond

NOTE: This was the last song I recorded with my good friend Buddy Sexton at Studio D in SummitVille, Indiana. It was inspired by another good friend Carol Shell and preformed as a gift at my friend Sara’s wedding. Since we first recorded this song, I have written two additional sections. Hopefully they will be recorded and added to this collection. Listening to this tune sure makes me miss Buddy. We had some GOOD TIMES!

Few people live a life, to ever find The ONE, who can make a wary heart, and make it burn like the morning sun. I could tell the minute girl, I first laid eyes on you. Life aint so bad, dreams come true.

Now that I have found you girl, I can’t let you slip away. I’l be here to stand with you, til’ my dining day. I can finely say, Life has just begun. Now that I know, you’re The ONE…

CHORUS: When you feel the way I feel, the world seems right. Aint no place I’d rather be than with you girl tonight. Every time I see you smile I thank the LORD above. Look out heart, here comes love.

I use to set and wonder what it was all about. Every time I took a chance on love, my luck ran out. This time it’s different girl, I know where I belong. Here in your arms, Here in this song.

CHORUS: When you feel the way I feel, the universe is right. Aint no place I’d rather be then with you girl, Every night. When I hear your name I thank the LORD above, Look out heart, here comes love. Take my hand, baby You’re The ONE…

  • BRIDGE: Looking back on other times I thought I found true love. Until’ the day I met you girl, I didn’t know what love was…

  • OUTRO: You’re the one I lean on, when life can be too strong. The arms that hold me, when the lonely night’s too long. The place I run to when there’s nowhere left to go. I just had to let you know. I can never let this go. Girl, you know I love you so. You’re The ONE!

Bring back the love

words and music by Jeff LeMond

NOTE: I have to give all the credit for this song to GOD. He led me to write it in about 10 minutes one evening as I was practicing some tunes in my basement. NO plans to write this song. It just happened. I would like to dedicate this one to my Mom. She was the driving force behind my music, and I miss her dearly. It was her idea for me to take piano lessons at age five. As a youngster I was very fascinated with how both my sisters could play piano. Who knew that years later I would be writing my own songs. MOM You might say, Bring back the Love is one of those songs about “A better vanished time” Neil Peart

Mom and Dad did all they could to bring us kids up right. They tried to teach us good from bad, when to run and when to fight. There’s no way they could have known how the world would be today. It aint just black & white no more. It’s all these shades of gray. Well it seems like family values, they don’t amount to much these days. When a man can have a wife and kids, turn his back and walk away. There’s got to be an answer for all the pain we cost. Better bring it back, before it’s lost.

CHORUS: Bring back the love, from a time we once lived. When a man worked heard to make ends meet, and he gave all he could give. And we thanked the LORD for blessing us with the little that we had. If we could only be as wise as Mom and Dad…

Well you can’t turn on the evening news without seeing seems of war. Hell, the anchorman keeps telling me poverty is knocking at my front door. Just one night I’d love to hear that old news man say, Well I’m sorry son, There’s nothing going wrong here today.

CHORUS: Bring back the love, from a time we once lived. When a man worked heard to make ends meet, and he gave all he could give. And we thanked the LORD for blessing us with the little that we had. If we could only be as wise as Mom and Dad… Heaven bless us with the love that our folks had. Well I guess those simple times, weren’t so bad…

CHORUS: Bring back the love, from a time we once lived. When a man worked heard to make ends meet, and he gave all he could give. And we thanked the LORD for blessing us with the little that we had. If we could only be as wise as Mom and Dad…

Bring back the love.

Bring back the love.

Bring back the love.

Bring it back…

It might be you!

words and music by Jeff LeMond and Brad Cummings

NOTE: This is the only song I have ever co written with anyone. Brad developed the basic idea for the song and came up with the opening verse. I made up the choruses in the studio as we were recording it. Kevin Wilson did the guitar work, and Tony Randolph rocked the drums. This song did enjoy limited air play on a local FM radio station W A X T Rockin’ Country 96.7 here in town. It was recorded at Studio D in SummitVille, Indiana. My co-writer on this one, Brad Cummings was our original bass player in The Lil’ Ramble’n Band AKA WANTED. He is a good friend and I was privileged to have played music with this guy. I have gotten to work with some quite extraordinary ladies and gentlemen over the years. Life is good

Yeah the work week’s through, I’m thirsty for a brew, looking for a little action. I need a honkytonk club, a roadside pub that plays Brooks, Trent, Strait and Jackson. Well I got a little money, I got a little time to do the things I wanna do. I need a hole lot more than an old dance floor, Someone to hold me but I don’t know who. Well I got a funny feeling it might be you.

CHORUS: Well it might be the perfume that you wear, or the way you come that long red hair. driving me crazy girl when I’m with you. Lord it might be you.

I was leaning on a bar stool, thinking’ bout shooting’ pool thats when I saw you there. You were talking to a stranger, Looking like an angel, I thought life aint fair.Well I took a little chance when I asked for a dance, I thought, what have i got to loose. You made me feel like a man when you grabbed me by the hand and fired up those dancing shoos. Girl its looking dirty certen it might be you.

CHORUS: Well it might be the way you walk that walk, or the southern draw when you talk. Or just about anything you wanna do. LORD, it might be you.

CHORUS: Well it might be the way you comb your hair or the Calven Kline’s that you wear, Just about anything you wanna do. It might be the way you walk that walk or the southern draw when you talk, driving me crazy girl when I’m with you. It might be the pickup truck you drive with the gun rack, CB, and four wheel drive, Girl I don’t know what I’m gonna do. Yeah it might be you.

You’re looking good baby.

Have mercy..

Let’s get outta here…

The Edge

words and music by Jeff LeMond

NOTE: This is the very first and most successful song I have written and subsequently had played on local radio. It was number one on the CowPokes Western Outfitters W A X T top 5 an 5 for an amazing seventeen days strait. The first time I heard this song being plaid on the radio was clearly one of the high points of my life. I will never forget that day. Originally, The Edge had no bridge. Tony Randolph commented that something was missing and so shortly before we went into the studio, I came up with the unusual bridge you hear in this song. I guess you might categorize The Edge as a Power Ballad.

We won a local battle of the bands contest and the prize was studio time. The Edge was the very first tune we recorded with that time. What a tremendous blessing that was.

I did all of the pre production on my trusty ensoniq TS-12 synthesizer. Everything was synced to a click track that Tony used as a timing reference as he laid down his drum tracks. Then Brad did his bass magic and Kevin put the icing on the cake.

A big part of all of this project was Daryl Powell of Studio D. He was very helpful in bringing it all together and recording the thing.

Andy Warhol once said that everyone would have 15 minutes of fame at some point in their lives. Well, my 15 minutes was sometime shortly after recording The Edge. And I am forever grateful to GOD and everyone around me who supported this awesome adventure.

When I wake up in the morning; will you still be there? What do I have to do to show how much I care? I gave you all my love’. I handed you my heart. Guess I should have known right from the start. When I’m with you baby; I feel so alive. Hell i wonder if you feel the same way deep inside. You still keep your distance, I can’t figure it out. Girl I just can’t seem to shake this doubt.

CHORUS: Well I aint got time for this. Liven’ on the edge of love; for just a kiss. I don’t wanna play your game. Staying here and loving you; can only bring me pain.

When I run my fingers through your hair, girl it sure feels fine. Your eyes they sparkle, and your lips taste like red wine. You’re all I ever wanted, You’re all I’l ever need. Girl I think you know just what I mean.

CHORUS: Well I aint got time for this. Living on the edge of love for just one kiss. I don’t wanna play your game. Staying here and loving you is driving me insane.

BRIDGE: When I held you girl, I had it all. Now you’re gone; life goes on, I’m headed for a fall.

CHORUS: Aint got time for this. Living on the edge of love. I don’t wanna play your game. Looks like the forecast, calls for a little rain…

Whispers in the breeze AKA - Once upon a time

words and music by Jeff LeMond

NOTE: This is a somewhat polished up version of a song we use to play out when I was with WANTED back in the day. I honestly can’t remember my motivation for writing this one but I like how it turned out. So the piano at the very beginning was done on a 9 foot YAMAHA grand at Studio D.

I guess to summarize this tune I would say, its a story about, Boy meets girl, boy falls in love with said girl, Girl has other plans, boy is extremely distraught over the entire mess. Girl moves on, and boy gets caught in a causality loop for ever. The End

…He should have just got a nice dog.

NOTE: Here is something you might find interesting. Turns out, I liked the basic melody of ARia 51 so much, I also used it as the kicker at the beginning of this song as a slowly building piano intro.

Once upon a time in a fairy tail, there was a princess I thought I knew well. Now she’s gone, I must have been wrong. She told me she loved me, I thought it was true. The story is over now what can I do? My angel is gone, How can I go on?

CHORUS: When we were in love, the whole thing was right, then loneliness came like a thief in the night. Its all behind me now; accept her memories. I’m gonna find the strength to moon on. It won’t be the same now that she’s gone. Words of love spoke late, like whispers in the breeze.

They say time can heel all if you just give it a chance. Hell it might be the cure for this busted romance. Well its gonna take me years, til’ I run outta tears. I’m gonna find a place in my heart; where this bitterness ends. New love starts. I’m on the right track. I aint looking back.

CHORUS: When we were in love, the whole world was ours. We had it all, from the moon to the stars. No one could ever tell us this thing would end. Now that its over, now that she’s gone. I’l pick up the pieces, its time to move on. Worlds apart now darling; like dust in the wind. Well I guess its time for the fairy tail to end. Its time to end…

ARea 51

music by Jeff LeMond

NOTE: I can’t in good conscience; advocate the use of illegal drugs, but this thing sounds way better if you are high. Trust me…

ARea 51 is my cosmic anthem. Its many complex layers and lush synthesizer pads were created totally using an ensoniq TS-12 programmable polyphonic synthesizer. I want to explore this kind of music further. in the future.

Only the moon…

words and music by Jeff LeMond

NOTE: Only the moon AKA The anniversary song is the only waltz I have ever written. Its one of those things that just spontaneously happened one evening as I was practicing. I really have no idea how it happened. It was that quick. I used an old record scratch sample to give it a nostalgic vibe. It was born circa 1997 or there about… This song was written and preformed on an ensoniq TS-12 synthesizer. Studio D. SummitVille, In.

I know I don’t tell you I love you, as much as you’d like to hear. But girl if there’s a doubt in the way that I feel, then please let me make myself clear.

CHORUS: Only the moon stands between us. I see the stars in your eyes. It might be years since we said I DO. But I will, the rest of my life.

Words can’t express the emotion from the first time you heard my hand. As the years rush by; the love in your eyes makes me proud to be your man.

CHORUS: Only the moon stands between us. I see the stars in your eyes. It might be a while sense we walked that isle, but i’l always remember that night. Girl I’l love you, the rest of my life.

CHORUS: Only the moon stands between us. I see stars in your eyes. What I need most is to just hold you close. And somehow make you realize, girl I’l love you the rest of my life.

Anything I might have done well in this life is through the grace of GOD. Anything I have screwed up is all on me.
