Diary Entry: 06 24 22
Headed Home: Well, we are on the bus and headed home after the most awesome weekend ever! I had so much fun at scout camp I hate to see it end, but I do miss mom and I can’t wait to get back to our new home and get settled in.
As we head back down the mountainside I see that giant gothic mansion that overlooks the valley below. That place gives me the creeps. Our scoutmaster says they are using it as an orphanage these days. I feel sorry for any kids who get stuck living in a place like that. I would probably run away.
We just past the scariest graveyard I have ever seen. Very old and unkept, it looks like something straight out of a horror flick. BUT on the bright side, we are half way home now.
As we roll into town I see police cars everywhere. The park is closed and crime scene tape is blocking every entrance. Cops are even at the college and an ambulance. Something bad must have happened.
Well, mom is not here to pick me up so I guess I’m walking from the library out to our house. It is a nice day so no worries. I wonder where the heck mom is…
I am at a loss for words just now. I walked home only to fine that home is no longer here. It looks like the house must have burned down. Nothing left but a big hole where the basement once was. Mom’s sister lives next town over. Thats probably where she went. I will walk down to the rest stop and try to catch a ride to CollinsPort.
I finally made the rest stop and its nearly dark. This place is deserted accept for one 18 wheeler parked way out back. The guy must be catching up on sleep because I knocked on his door and no response. He has his windows all blacked out so I can’t see if their is anyone even in the cab. I guess he will eventually wake up and come out for something to eat. When he does, I will ask him for a ride. This day couldn’t get much worse…
