Me, and Songwriting...

My very first venture into actual songwriting came back in January 1985 with not much else going on I was snowed in with my beloved YAMAHA CP 70B Electric Grand piano. That thing was like some kind of focusing lens for creative ideas and it was what I used to develop my very first song. Baby Love. 

As I remember it, the entire process took a couple weeks in total. The music came to me rather quickly, but the lyrics took a while. At any rate, over the years; this song has been requested literally hundreds of times at various gigs. 

I can not put into words the feeling you get when someone requests a song that you actually wrote.  The feeling is amazing for sure, but its nothing compared with how you feel when first hearing one of your songs being played on the radio.  

I believe it was the summer of 1995 or 1996 when a local country radio station Then known as (The Frog) 96,7 f m WAXT played a song I wrote called The Edge. I was in a car headed north on state road 9 when I first heard it. And that kinda blew my mind. 

I never made it to the BIG time I guess. GOD has different ideas for us than we do, and thats fine with me. I have had a wonderful time over the years though. Music is a true blessing for me. And I am grateful just to be in the game.
