motivation
Here is a short story to explain how and why I actually got started in music. So, first off; my older sisters both played the piano and as a kid, I was fascinated by this. My mom started me on lessons at around age 5. At first, I was not all that enthusiastic about that. My dad always had a guitar and mandolin and he was a BIG fan of bluegrass and gospel music. I guess you could say, our family was a musical family. I somehow ended up playing trumpet in the Madison Heights Jr. high school band and then the Sr. high band. As a teen, my musical entrusts lie mostly in rock n roll and Motown. I never put it all together until the first time I saw STYX and heard songs like Lady and Crystal Ball. That got me to thinking. That is where I want to take whatever music talent I might have. Dennis DeYoung is the chief reason I ever thought of playing keyboards in a band. He is also my real influence auto songwriting and singing. Along the way I have tried to learn from others such as Jonathan Cain of Journey, Greg Hawkes of The Cars, and ofcorse Sir Elton John. Below, I am adding a few links to some of my most favorite examples of what most influences me as a would be musician. The list is forever evolving and growing so not all can be mentioned here, but you get the drift.
