a letter to apple

I have been using Apple products for many years and recommend them to friends and family every chance I get.  That having been said,  and at the risk of sounding a bit quixotic;  I have an idea for a feature enhancement to Mac OS and iOS.

I love writing in my personal journal every day.  I find it helps to keep my mind sharp and at the same time,  it challenges me to learn and use more new words and phrases as I write.

I have been using a great application for journaling called Day One.  This allows me to keep a journal that is synchronized and up to date across all my Apple products.  Unfortunately,  a while back,  The fine folks at Day One decided to no longer allow us to sync with iCloud.  Now we have to buy the sync feature as a recurring payment to Day One.  I am not happy with that arrangement at all.

This got me to thinking,  if you had a journaling app baked into the OS,  it could be hooked into Photos,  music, Safari, etc.  And it could use iCloud to sync.  Something like Day One,  only better!

Or even a stand alone app that was offered for sale on the app store.  ANYTHING from Apple that would be a reasonable replacement for Day One.  Call it iJournal or   journal or whatever.

Apple could always just buy Day One and Grammarly and meld them into ONE super app for iOS and Mac OS.

Please consider this idea and make my life a better place for journaling in the future.  And thank everyone at Apple for creating so many amazing products for humanity.

Sincerely,

Jeff LeMond
