Winners and Losers

By Jeff LeMond

Seems like these days everyone is caught up in the game.

Reluctant to relinquish gold,

Yet so eager to place blame.

Competition surely makes us strong

It teaches us to fight.

So in all things we do our best

regardless, wrong or right.

But in the end so few can win, most haven’t got a chance.

By end of day, least we can say,

we made it to the dance.

Most of us are losers that’s just a cold hard fact.

And most of us will be just fine with not much real impact.

Few of us experience such joy to win the race.

Or even know euphoric bliss to fail to win, but place.

The rest of us must be content to just be in the game.

The winners and the losers are bit players all the same.
