A New Year’s Prayer

Here’s to better times ahead for family and for friends.

A fuller cup, a larger plate, and softer warmer wends.

Here’s to larger paychecks, and fewer, smaller bills.

For lesser indiscretions, and more substantial thrills.

May GOD put evil in it’s place, may justice reign supreme.

Old corruption leave us now.

and to everyone, ice-cream.

A warmer house in winter to keep us safe and dry.

But cool in the summertime, in this let us rely.

And let us not be re-miss, for those without a chance.

The ones who never hear the song, or have a time to dance.

So many souls, and few of them will know the joy we share.

May the LORD enlighten us, and teach us how to care.

So here’s to better days ahead, and calmer, dreamy sleep.

Make a promise to yourself.

And make one you can keep.

Here’s wishing you the very best throughout the coming year.

The best of luck, the best in love,

Good fortune, …and good cheer.

But more than this I say a prayer, and send it up above.

May GOD in Heaven cover us with mercy, grace, and love.
