Loretta
In September of 2018 I began an ambitious project to build a system based around an A R 15 style rifle. After doing some serious research on the thing, I decided to use a Barrett REC 7 as the base product. I purchased the rifle from In-laws and Outlaws Gun Shop in Gas City, In. The closest Barrett dealer. I ordered the gun with a flat black cerakote finish. And this A R is a gas piston system not a D I as most tend to be. It has a 3 position low profile adjustable gas block and a medium profile 16 hammer forged steel barrel. Other features include a Geissele SSA two stage trigger pack, a Radian Raptor LE ambidextrous charging handle, Radian Talon ambi fire selector and MagPul M B U S Pro backup iron sites.
The gun shipped with ONE 30 round MagPul P Mag. Since then, I subsequently picked up dozens more to add to the system. (you can never have too many magazines) and so the number is constantly growing. I like to store my magazines loaded as well.
I replaced the polymer trigger guard with a billet aluminum enhanced guard from MagPul. And I also replaced the polymer dust cover with a billet aluminum U D C from Strike Industries. And I subsequently replaced the standard magazine catch-release with an ambi mag catch from S I. Other Strike Industries additions were three 7 position Pic Rails with integrated QD sockets. and some polymer heat shielding for the rail. And a billet aluminum hand stop.
I then picked up a Surefire Scout Light M 600 DF. That is a 1500 lumens weapons light. And I added a UTG BullDot green targeting LASER designator. Both from AMAZON. And as far as optics go, I picked up a holographic red dot SightMark Mil Spec optic at Dunham’s Sporting goods. and I got a SightMark 7-X magnafyer from AMAZON. I also bought a spare parts kit for my rifle from Barrett
It has taken a year and a half for me to get this far on the project. As I am severely limited by budget constraints. I do plan on adding a MagPul adjustable sling and possibly a bipod.
The next phase of building this system is based around a (Bug-out Bag) that I will build up over the next year or so. I already have a pretty good idea of what this will consist of. Its just a matter of putting things together. I should note here that as much fun as it is to build a system like this, I sure hope I never have to actually use it.
I forgot to mention that I added a 511 Tactical magazine bag to the system last year, and it is full of loaded P-Mags. It also contains a LED flashlight and a Buck Lite multitool.
A system like this is not complete without some kind of hand gun. I currently have two. A GLOCK 19 and a Sig P320 compact. I like both and am not sure what one I will add to this system. You can never have too many pistols, magazines, and ammo.
My Bug-Out Bag will be a Maxpedition Fliegerduffel in FDE. and I plan on adding a Gerber Downrange Tomahawk and a Redcamp Military folding shovel as well as a survival kit from Stanford Outdoors. All of this is based around my A R 15. Loretta is the heart of the project. I believe a good rifle is most important to start.
My very first actual firearm was a Mossberg 410 gauge bolt action shotgun. I got that gun as a gift from my DAD on my 16th birthday. Since then, I have owned several firearms. Everything from a Springfield M-1, to a Chinese AK 47. Finally, after decades of wanting my own A R 15, LORETTA is here! For some reason, when the government tries to keep something from me, that tends to make me want that thing even more than ever. Caesar’s men carried swards so Jesus told us in Luke 22:36 that we should have a sward as well. Today Caesar’s men carry high powered rifles. It’s not rocker science folks. It’s Biblical.
