In June of 2017 it was my great fortune to acquire a baby Alaskan Malamute puppy named Barnabas.  Over the following five and a half years he and I became best friends and so much more.   And then as fate would have it,  Barnabas passed away suddenly and quite unexpectedly.  This was one of the hardest things I have ever had to face.  It was truly heartbreaking.

I seriously doubt I will ever get over the loss of my best friend Barney.  Not a day goes by that I don’t think of him.  Some day we will find each other in Heaven.  Of this I am sure. Some sunny day…

Last week I was sitting in here thinking about Barnabas and wondering what he was up to in his next life.  I was thinking about how much I was missing him and his companionship.  Just then I got a text message from the woman who sold Barnabas to me.  She wanted me to know they had a new litter of pups.  Same dad as Barnabas,  different mom.  She sent a few pictures.

Long story-short…  Looks like I am getting a NEW puppy in February.  And I couldn’t be more excited.  This is not a replacement.  Rather something completely new,  based on something legendary.   So, here we go…
